A rumbling, squealing, or wobbling alternator side idler pulley is one of the most common causes of accessory belt noise and premature belt wear on the 350Z VQ35DE. The Gates 36336 DriveAlign is a direct OEM replacement alternator and power steering belt idler pulley for the Nissan 350Z DE, built to OE specifications with bearings engineered to run cooler and last longer than the factory unit.
Belts, tensioners, and idler pulleys are designed to the same service life. Replacing just the belt at service time and leaving a worn pulley in place puts the new belt straight back into a degraded system. Gates recommend replacing both together for the best outcome.
