The Goss TS164 is a direct OEM replacement transmission output speed sensor for the Nissan 370Z Z34 equipped with the 6-speed manual transmission. The output speed sensor monitors the rotational speed of the transmission output shaft and sends a signal to the ECU, providing data used for speedometer operation, cruise control, and transmission management. This sensor is for manual transmission equipped 370Z models only.
The transmission output speed sensor is a contactless sensor that performs a continuous scan of a trigger wheel inside the transmission and generates a digital signal proportional to shaft rotation speed. A faulty sensor can affect speedometer accuracy, disable cruise control, and trigger a check engine light on the 370Z instrument cluster.
