The NTK EH0343 is the crankshaft position (crank angle) sensor for the Nissan 350Z Z33 equipped with the VQ35DE 3.5L V6 engine. It is a direct OEM replacement cross-referencing to Nissan OEM numbers 23731-8J100, 23731-8J105, 23731-8J106, and 23731-AL605. The sensor is mounted at the rear of the engine on the transmission bellhousing, where it reads the position of the crankshaft by detecting protrusions on the flywheel. The crankshaft position sensor is one of the most critical sensors on the VQ35DE. The ECU uses the crank angle signal to determine the exact position of the crankshaft at all times, which it uses to calculate ignition timing and fuel injection timing on every firing event. A failing sensor can cause symptoms ranging from extended cold starts and intermittent stalling all the way to a no-start condition, making it one of the first sensors to diagnose when the VQ35DE develops starting or running issues.
Common symptoms of a failing crankshaft position sensor:
• Check engine light with fault codes P0335, P0336, P0337, P0338 or similar CKP sensor codes
• Engine cranks but will not start, or takes many attempts to fire
• Intermittent stalling at idle or under light load
• Misfires or rough running at idle and under acceleration
• Engine cuts out suddenly at speed and restarts after cooling down
• Poor fuel economy from incorrect ignition and injection timing

Suits the VQ35DE engine only. The 350Z HR (VQ35HR) and 370Z (VQ37VHR) use a different crankshaft position sensor. Confirm your engine code before ordering. The sensor is held in by a single 10mm bolt at the rear of the engine on the transmission bellhousing.
NTK and Hitachi are the recommended brands for VQ35DE crankshaft sensors. When replacing the crank sensor, always inspect the O-ring on the sensor body and replace it if it shows any signs of wear or compression set, as a leaking O-ring can introduce oil to the sensor and cause repeat failures.
