The NTK OZA817-EE1 is the pre-catalytic converter (upstream) oxygen sensor for the Nissan 350Z DE (VQ35DE) built up to November 2004. Sold as a set of 2 covering both the left and right bank sensor positions on the VQ35DE V6. NTK is the world's largest manufacturer of original equipment oxygen sensors, supplying the sensor technology used in many Nissan vehicles as original equipment. Each sensor is individually tested during manufacture and supplied with a direct-fit factory-matched connector.
The VQ35DE has four oxygen sensors in total two upstream (pre-cat, one per bank) and two downstream (post-cat, one per bank). The pre-cat sensors are the primary fuel control sensors, monitoring exhaust oxygen content directly after the exhaust manifold and sending closed-loop feedback to the ECU to maintain the correct air to fuel ratio. A faulty pre-cat sensor has a direct and immediate effect on fuel economy, drivability, and emissions on the 350Z.
Common symptoms of a faulty pre-cat oxygen sensor:
• Check engine light with fault codes P0130, P0131, P0132, P0133, P0134, P0150 or similar upstream O2 codes
• Increased fuel consumption
• Rough idle or hesitation under acceleration
• Reduced engine performance
• Failed emissions test
