Engine knocking detection issues can lead to reduced performance, timing retard and poor fuel efficiency. The OEX OKS221 is a direct replacement knock sensor designed to accurately detect engine knock and relay this information to the ECU for correct ignition timing control.
When diagnosing loss of power, timing retard or knock-related fault codes, the knock sensor is a commonly inspected component within the system.
The knock sensor detects abnormal combustion (knock) and allows the ECU to adjust ignition timing to protect the engine while maintaining performance.
Common symptoms associated with knock sensor issues:
