The Permaseal VSS0183-12 is the valve stem seal set for the Nissan 350Z DE equipped with the VQ35DE 3.5L V6 engine. Sold as a set of 12, this covers one cylinder bank of the VQ35DE. The VQ35DE is a 24-valve engine a full engine replacement requires two sets. Each seal is manufactured or sourced to OEM specification, delivering the fit, sealing performance, and material quality of the original factory seals.
Worn or hardened valve stem seals are a common cause of oil burning on start-up in ageing VQ35DE engines oil pools on top of the head overnight and is drawn past degraded seals on cold start, producing a blue-grey puff of smoke from the exhaust. The VSS0183-12 restores the sealing between the valve stem and guide, returning correct oil control to the top end.

Full engine replacement requires two sets. The VQ35DE has 24 valves across two cylinder banks — 12 per bank. This set of 12 covers one bank only. Order two sets (VSS0183-12 × 2) for a complete valve stem seal replacement. Always inspect valve guides for wear before fitting new seals; fitting new seals to worn guides will not restore correct oil control.
